Job Description

Montacute House

Lantern of Light

Enlightened was originally approached by the National Trust in 2015 to provide equipment and light design for their upcoming winter light attraction ‘A lantern of Light', having previously provided light attractions at the Trust’s Saltram House, Lacock Abbey and Prior Park amongst others.

This enchanting event was truly breathtaking and proved so successful that we are pleased to have been asked to provide lighting design and installation for this year's; Christmas 2017’s winter ‘Lantern of Light' attraction.

A jewel in the National Trusts collection Montacute House in Somerset is one of the few prodigy houses to survive almost unchanged from the Elizabethan era and is designated by English Heritage as grade 1 listed and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Built of warm honey-coloured Somerset Hamstone, the architecture reflects even the most meagre sunshine, glowing golden in the Somerset landscape.

Much loved by visitors and locals for its beauty and reflected warmth the building makes a stunning canvas for a winter light installation, transforming the building's stonework so it sits in the early evening dark of the winter landscape like a magic lantern of deep colours.
